As usual, I\u2019m also leaving many terms undefined for now to see what feedback arises (there are many interpretations).<\/p>\n<p id=\"3e6c\" class=\"hy hz en ia b ib iv id ie if iw ih ii ij ix il im in iy ip iq ir iz it iu hx ef dd\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">I\u2019m wondering if we are approaching a\u00a0<a class=\"bi gm ja jb jc jd\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Phase_transition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Phase Transition<\/a>\u00a0in the way we deal with data: that we\u2019ll \u2018jump\u2019 into a new state where we\u00a0<strong class=\"ia je\">must<\/strong>\u00a0<strong class=\"ia je\">solve (right now)<\/strong>\u00a0interoperability at a cultural level to have a hope of solving any of the economic, environmental or social issues that are upon us today.<\/p>\n<p id=\"6881\" class=\"hy hz en ia b ib iv id ie if iw ih ii ij ix il im in iy ip iq ir iz it iu hx ef dd\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">The design outcomes we are looking for are, for\u00a0<a class=\"bi gm ja jb jc jd\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@agentGav\/what-is-shared-data-20f6a7233887\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shared Data<\/a>\u00a0(and Open Data, but that\u2019s a derivative use-case), to:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"\">\n<li id=\"8d1f\" class=\"hy hz en ia b ib iv id ie if iw ih ii ij ix il im in iy ip iq ir iz it iu hx jf jg jh dd\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">maximise for interoperability &amp; cohesion (private sector + public sector)<\/li>\n<li id=\"aac8\" class=\"hy hz en ia b ib ji id ie if jj ih ii ij jk il im in jl ip iq ir jm it iu hx jf jg jh dd\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">reduce friction in the system (legal, technical, cultural, regulation)<\/li>\n<li id=\"c49f\" class=\"hy hz en ia b ib ji id ie if jj ih ii ij jk il im in jl ip iq ir jm it iu hx jf jg jh dd\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">open markets<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"96a1\" class=\"hy hz en ia b ib iv id ie if iw ih ii ij ix il im in iy ip iq ir iz it iu hx ef dd\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">Three provocations:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"\">\n<li id=\"eaa7\" class=\"hy hz en ia b ib iv id ie if iw ih ii ij ix il im in iy ip iq ir iz it iu hx jf jg jh dd\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">the web is (still) the most successful information architecture in history<\/li>\n<li id=\"0262\" class=\"hy hz en ia b ib ji id ie if jj ih ii ij jk il im in jl ip iq ir jm it iu hx jf jg jh dd\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">the first-order architectural solution should never be \u2018build a portal\/hub\u2019<\/li>\n<li id=\"788a\" class=\"hy hz en ia b ib ji id ie if jj ih ii ij jk il im in jl ip iq ir jm it iu hx jf jg jh dd\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">everyone is still struggling to understand how the web works and how to codify its architectural principles into our business\/cultural norms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"e84d\" class=\"hy hz en ia b ib iv id ie if iw ih ii ij ix il im in iy ip iq ir iz it iu hx ef dd\" data-selectable-paragraph=\"\">And some lenses through which to peer\u2014risks &amp; controls; unintended consequences; accidental monopolies; consent management; redress; liability transfer;\u00a0<a class=\"bi gm ja jb jc jd\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@agentGav\/what-is-shared-data-20f6a7233887\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reciprocity<\/a>;
