Air quality data – ripe for disruption?

Friends in the area tell me that this is the site that everyone is using to monitor air quality in the CA wildfire region.

A good example of why agencies should supply raw data and openAPIs — to help others develop apps and services that could better provide direct support to people.

Given the US  spends $billions on weather reporting, it’s surprising that this is the ‘state of the art’ for air quality … wonder if we’ll see a raft of investment in this area now?
